As today is National Nacho Day – one of our favourite dates on the calendar, we want to help you find the perfect platter so you can celebrate right. Here is a list of our top five Toronto restaurants that serve some of the city’s best nachos.

After much anticipation, the Cheesecake Factory made its way across the border just last year, opening the first Canadian location at Yorkdale Shopping Centre. Its impressive menu features over 250 items that are made fresh from scratch every day! The Factory Nachos, are a must-have appetizer to share or keep all to yourself. Dig into a plate of crispy tortilla chips smothered in cheese and topped with green onions, jalapeños, guacamole, salsa, sour cream and a red chile sauce for an extra kick.

2. Sneaky Dee’s King’s Crown Nachos

The larger-than-life King’s Crown Nachos at Sneaky Dee’s truly deserves a royal crown. Enjoy a bed of flour tortilla chips perfectly coated in melted cheese, jalapeños, onions, tomatoes, mixed peppers, ground beef and a helping of frijoles. Topped with a mountain of salsa roja, guacamole and sour cream, this nacho platter is definitely fit for a king.

3. Scotland Yard’s Nachomari

Here is a real twist on the classic. The Nachomari dish at Scotland Yard, is an award-winning combination of tortilla chips, melted Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheese, jalapeños, and scallions topped with fried calamari. Though that last topping may sound unusual, the combination works beautifully. The nachos are surrounded by bowls of tzatziki sauce, salsa, sour cream and guacamole, making each dip better than the last.

This is Nacho average plate of nachos! Dock Ellis’ Wonton Nachos swaps out regular tortilla chips for deep-fried wontons, topping them with chorizo or beans (or both!), cheese sauce, jalapeños, salsa and sour cream.
