INTERNS

Job Summary

Butter Public Relations Inc. is looking for a stellar Public Relations Intern with exceptional organizational/communication skills who will thrive in a creative and fast-paced environment.

We represent clients ranging from chefs and restaurants to kitchen equipment and gourmet food products. RESPONSIBILITIES and ONGOING TRAINING:

  • Researching media contacts and updating Butter PR’s media list
  • Media monitoring and clipping
  • Updating coverage reports
  • Participating in media events
  • Client research and development
  • Assisting in administrative tasks such as:
  • Coordinating product mail outs
  • Assembly of media kits
  • Monitoring the tasks and schedules of several people
  • Available to work evenings and weekends when necessary

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Recently graduated from or currently enrolled in a program in public relations or a related discipline
  • Previous internship experience is a bonus, especially if in a food-related industry
  • Knowledge of major food and lifestyle media and social media throughout Canada
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to articulate in a clear, concise and compelling manner
  • Extremely organized with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with very tight deadlines
  • Incumbent must have the capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Extremely proactive with the ability to provide prompt follow-through on projects
  • An organized self-starter capable of working alone or in groups
  • Ability to accept specific direction, with an outstanding work ethic
  • A natural problem solver
  • Solid knowledge of Mail Chimp, Meltwater or other database programs
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (ideally CS6), Hootsuite, as well as all social media platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is assumed
  • Bilingual English/French an asset

Success in this role will be measured by the intern’s multi-tasking proficiencies, ability to work as part of a team, administrative skills and level of enthusiasm. SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGIST

Job Description

Butter Public Relations Inc. is looking for a Social Media Strategist with superior people and communication skills who thrives in a creative and face-paced environment. Yes, there’s the fact that you have 3-5 years of experience running social media programs for multiple clients in an agency setting, you’ve also worked with both consumer and B2B profiles. You thrive in designing and delivering fabulous social media strategies that make a real impact and garner amazing results. In addition, you’re proactive and an outside-of-the-box thinker with a love of food, but your passion, your creativity, ambition and organization are what set you apart.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report directly to the Account Director
  • Play lead role in managing the planning, development, implementation and execution of our clients’ social media strategies and campaigns
  • Create and manage the activities of all clients’ social media accounts
  • Edit and review all social media calendars (created in conjunction with PR calendars)
  • Work with the Account Director to create extensive advertising campaigns in the digital space across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube etc.
  • Manage PR/Social Media Coordinator and Community Manager
  • Take the lead in looking for new business in the social media-sphere, initiate conversations and introductions, help research, create pitches, proposals and social media budgets
  • Build and expand upon relationships with members of the social media world (influencers, social medialites, media, etc.)
  • Continually position Butter PR’s clients as top-of-mind
  • Create, monitor and manage client social media budgets for advertising (SEO, promoted posts, yelp reviews, etc).
  • Lead the creation of monthly social media reports for all clients with the help of account coordinator

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years experience in an ad or PR agency in Social Media Strategist
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple clients
  • Extensive experience and knowledge across all social media platforms and management tools (Facebook, Instagram, Google Business, Hootsuite, Facebook Business Manager, Yelp etc.)
  • Experience working with food and/or lifestyle related brands (consumer packaged goods, retail, online, etc.) in a digital and social media capacity
  • Experience developing brand identities, tone of voice and aesthetic
  • Extremely proactive with the ability to provide prompt follow-through on projects
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, Facebook and Instagram Advertising
  • Knowledge of SEO and various analytics platforms
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills with the ability to articulate in a clear, concise and compelling manner
  • Extensive knowledge of the influencer landscape and experience working with influencers on paid and non-paid content, campaigns or brand ambassador programs
  • Ability to prioritize and motivate yourself and the team you work with
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and a natural problem solver
  • Fluency in French is a bonus
