  1. Steal or Splurge. Great beers can be brewed with the simplest of set-ups. Chat with your local home-brew supply store to find the best pieces that won’t break the bank. Don’t forget to take a peek at what you have at home; you may find some equipment at home!
  2. Keep it simple. Start with a recipe for pale or amber ale to get a feel for your system and brewing. It’s easier to detect the flavour differences in these varieties, which will give you the opportunity to improve your process and recipes.
  3. Join a local home-brew community. For Toronto area brewers, GTA Brews is an incredibly welcoming community for all experience and skill levels. They provide resources and opportunities to help you grow and develop in beer making. Not to mention, Northern Maverick hosts their bi-monthly meetings!
