Maybe it’s their adorable petite size, their light-chewy texture, or the rainbow of colours you can select them from, but we just can’t get enough of French macarons. Luckily for all you foodies who share our obsession, tomorrow is Macaron Day in Toronto!
To improve your macaron knowledge, we have to set the record straight about the difference between macarons and macaroons. In case you didn’t know, the word “macaron” is not an alternative spelling of “macaroon” – they’re actually two separate things. While they’re both confections, macarons are meringue-based cookies filled with a delicious center, and macaroons are pastries that typically contain dried coconut.
To celebrate Macaron Day, we recommend satisfying your sweet tooth with our favourite macarons from Pusateri’s. They carry a wide range of sweets including Petite & Sweet macarons (a.k.a little bites of heaven). Available in a plethora of colours and flavours, their macarons are hand-crafted using only the finest ingredients.
If you want to be adventurous and bake your own macarons, our friend Martha Stewart has a fabulous recipe for delicious basic French Macarons.
Enjoy your Macaron day, and be sure to leave room for our favourite delicate, meringue wonders.
