Your Ultimate Guide to Winterlicious 2019

It’s time to explore Toronto’s food scene with the city’s beloved tradition of Winterlicious. From January 25 to February 7, this annual event boasts lunch and dinner prix fixe menus from nearly 200 restaurants around the city! To help you navigate the extensive list, we’ve highlighted four of our favourite restaurants taking part with offerings that appeal to a variety of taste buds and budgets.

Northern Maverick Brewing Co.

You can’t miss Northern Maverick Brewing Co., an impressive two-floor brewery and 400-seat restaurant with laid back vibe on Bathurst just north of King Street. Its fiercely local menu offers an elevated experience with dishes that pair well with their house beers on tap. We recommend ordering the Beastly Burger. Made with dry-aged house-ground chuck and braised beef brisket, topped with house smoked cheese, kale, and chipotle BBQ sauce, this beauty of a menu item is available on their lunch and dinner menus.

For lunch, sample the decadent Rabbit and Mushroom Fettuccine, crafted with house-made spinach pasta, white port braised rabbit, mushrooms, shaved truffle pecorino, and light brodo. Miku Toronto

Miku Toronto’s Winterlicious menus celebrate the best of Aburi cuisine. The talented Miku chefs are known for their expertise in flamed-seared Aburi sushi, a technique where a flame is lightly applied with Japanese bamboo charcoal to the seafood creating new textures and enhancing the sushi’s natural flavour. Try it for yourself and order the Aburi Sushi Selection, available on their dinner menu featuring salmon oshi, ebi oshi, Coal Harbour Roll, Red Wave Roll, and Aburi nigiri. Pair your meal with a glass of sake, hand selected by their sake specialist to complete this memorable dining experience.
